Matthew Williamson to present Bohemian Glamour
The outstanding bridal collection from top UK designer Matthew Williamson will be launched to the trade at White Gallery London 2011, 22-24 May. Here’s a taster to wet your buying appetite.
The reaction from a select group of brides-to-be at the soft launch of the Matthew Williamson Bride collection is a clear indicator that this label is heading right to the top. Visitors to the prestigious White Gallery London at Battersea Evolution this May will be thrilled to see a collection with so distinctive a handwriting… and a masterly signature it is indeed. Short gowns with wonderfully delicate touches – a feathery skirt, a sheer one-shoulder drape – and elegant long gowns with that slight boho edge that adds personality, are part of a story that will continue to unfold beautifully.
Matthew Williamson’s first bridal range is a clear extension of the mainline evening wear. The fine selections of gowns with impeccable attention to detail are inspired by the iconic styles from his ready to wear collections of the past twelve years. He explains “I wanted to create bridal gowns with a laid-back sense of bohemian glamour. The pieces are all characterized by feminine, diaphanous silhouettes, and great attention to detail through the use of delicate pattern, hand beading and embroidery”.
Matthew Williamson’s 2012 bridal collection will be presented at his own by invitation only fashion show at White Gallery London on 22 May 2011. Attendees can expect plunging necklines, waterfall ruffled skirts with exquisite embroidery, Swarovski crystal embellishments and luxe mink and rabbit shrugs.
